Efficacy of Phytase Enzymes for Releasing Phytate-Bound Phosphorus: Effects of Phytase Source, Phytase Level, and Pharmacologic Zinc Supplementation

چکیده
Previous reviews have covered our work on the efficacy of a new E. coli-derived phytase (expressed in yeast) for releasing phytate-bound phosphorus (P) present in corn-soybean meal diets for young pigs, growing-finishing pigs, broiler chicks and laying hens (Baker and Augspurger, 2002; Augspurger, 2003; Augspurger et al., 2003a). It is not our intent to repeat this information, but instead to present new information.

Broiler Performance in Response to Phytate and Supplemented Phytase
Phosphorus (P) is a macro mineral in broiler nutrition. In growing broilers, besides its requirement for proper bone development, it is also involved in almost all metabolic processes. Poor P availability results in decreased productivity and poor health status.Phosphorus availability from plant derived feeds is affected by an anti-nutritional factor “phytate”, which forms a variety of insolubl...
متن کاملEfficacy of Phytase Preparations to Improve P Availability in Young Turkeys
Phytate phosphorus of plant ingredients is not substantially available to poultry because of the lack of endogenous phytase enzymes in their gastrointestinal tract. There are substantial differences among broilers, turkeys, and ducks in terms of plant P utilization. We studied whether the availability of P is different for two Phytase enzymes in turkeys. Finase and a New Phytase product develop...
متن کاملEffects of Microbial Phytase Supplementation on Mineral Composition of Tibia and Mineral Utilization in Broiler Fed Maize - Based Diets
An experiment was conducted to determine effect of supplementing maize based diet with different levels of microbial phytase on apparent nutrient bioavailability and tibia bone mineral of broilers. Eighty, day-old broiler were randomly allotted to five dietary treatments. The control diet contained 0 FTU/kg microbial phytase which was replaced by 200, 400, 600 and 800 FTU/kg microbial phytase o...
متن کاملBiotechnological Approach to Improve the Nutritional Availability in Livestock and Consequence for Reduction the Environment Pollution by Implement of Transgenic Phytase in Animal Feed
Phytases are hydrolytic enzymes that initiate the release of phosphate from phytate In recent years the application of the phytase enzyme have been studied intensively. Phytase enzymes have a wide distribution in plants, microorganisms, and in some animal tissues. Many strategies have been developed for improving phosphate and mineral availability in feed. However in recent years, expression of...
متن کاملHeterologous Expression of Secreted Bacterial BPP and HAP Phytases in Plants Stimulates Arabidopsis thaliana Growth on Phytate
Phytases are specialized phosphatases capable of releasing inorganic phosphate from myo-inositol hexakisphosphate (phytate), which is highly abundant in many soils. As inorganic phosphorus reserves decrease over time in many agricultural soils, genetic manipulation of plants to enable secretion of potent phytases into the rhizosphere has been proposed as a promising approach to improve plant ph...
